It is vital that we get our priorities right in order to make Tezpur University one of the best in the Northeast region, and eventually, in the entire country.Tezpur University, Assam, a Central University, issued notification inviting applications for recruitment to 13 faculty positions of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor under the School / Department of Education. Interested candidates should send their applications till 17 January 2014.

Total Vacancies: 13 posts
1.Name of the Post: Professor
No. of Posts: 2 posts
Pay Scale: PB – 4 of Rs. 37400 – 67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10000 plus other admissible allowances.
Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Arts / Humanities / Sciences / Commerce with M. Ed. or equivalent qualification OR M. A. (Education) / equivalent qualification with B. Ed.
2) Ph. D. in Education
3) At least 10 years of teaching experience in a University Department of Education or College of Education of which a minimum 5 years at the M. Ed. level with published work in the area of specialization.
4) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).
Candidates with proven experience in research and evidence of interest in interdisciplinary perspectives in liberal educational studies will be preferred.
2.Name of the Post: Associate Professor
No. of Posts: 3 posts
Pay Scale: PB – 4 of Rs. 37400 – 67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9000 plus other admissible allowances.
Educational qualifications: Master’s Degree in Arts / Humanities / Sciences / Commerce with M. Ed. or equivalent qualification OR M. A. (Education) / equivalent qualification with B. Ed.
2) Ph. D. in Education
3) At least 8 years of teaching experience in a University Department of Education or College of Education of with a minimum 3 years at the M. Ed. level with published work in the area of specialization.
4) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).
Candidates with proven experience in research and evidence of interest in interdisciplinary perspectives in liberal educational studies will be preferred.
3.Name of the Post:  Assistant Professor
No. of Posts: 8 posts
Pay Scale: PB – 3 of Rs. 15600 – 39100 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000 plus other admissible allowances.
Age Limit: 28 years
Educational qualifications:  Master’s Degree in the various subject given below or equivalent with M. Ed Degree. Besides, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers / Assistant Professors conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or similar test accredited by the UGC OR Ph.D. Degree.
Subjects: One Assistant Professor will be appointed for each of the following subjects:
(i) Physics / Chemistry;
(ii) Bioscience / Botany / Life Science;
(iii) Mathematics;
(iv)English;
(v)Assamese;
(vi)  History;
Specialization: At least one Assistant Professor will be appointed with specialization in ICT and another with specialization in Special Education
Selection Procedure: A Screening Committee will short-list candidates from amongst those fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria for consideration for recruitment.
Short-listed candidates will be called for Interview and final selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.
All Certificates, Degrees and other documents must be produced in original at the time of interview, for verification.
All the candidates called for interview shall bring their API scores on Performance Based Appraisal System .
Application fees: Non-refundable application fee of Rs.  500 (Rs. 250 for SC / ST / PWD candidates) have to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, Tezpur University’, payable at Tezpur.
SC / ST / PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
Candidates should write their name and the post applied for on the reverse of the Draft.
