
Set up in the year 1978, this Department
is responsible for welfare of Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes,
Persons with Disabilities, Women and Children and other vulnerable
sections of the Society. The Department is managing one Nari Niketan,
one Juvenile Home under the Juvenile Justice Act.The Welfare of SC/ST
and OBC, includes Post Delivery Financial Assistance to Women for
Nutrition; Stitching Charges of School uniform for S.C. Children, Free
Education for Meritorious SC and OBC students; Apni Beti Apna Dhan;
Holiday Camps for Scheduled Caste; Encouragement to inter-caste
Marriage; Development of Skills amongst SC children living in Jhugies
and Slum Areas; Seminar on Life, Mission & Work of Baba Saheb
Dr.B.R. Ambedkar, Monetary Relief/ Rehabilitation of Victims of
Atrocities; Strengthening of Machinery for the enforcement of PCR Act,
Housing Scheme for Scheduled Castes (Dr.Ambedkar Awas Yojana) etc..The
Social Welfare Department, Chandigarh Administration invites
applications from the eligible candidates from areas mentioned below to
fill up the posts of honorary and part time (female) Anganwadi Workers
and Helpers for the ICDS Projects of Chandigarh. The Social Welfare
Department is responsible for welfare of Scheduled Caste, Other Backward
Classes, Persons with Disabilities, Women and Children and other
vulnerable sections of the Society like welfare for Senior Citizen (old
age people) etc.

Anganwadi Worker: 04 Posts
Anganwadi Helper: 13 (Thirteen). [06 – UR, 03 – SC and 04 – OBC].

Educational Qualification:
• For Anganwadi Worker:
(i) Matric Pass. (Qualifying Marks for Merit List on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the examination – 4 marks for 40% or below, 5 marks for above 40% till 50% and so on till 10 marks for above 90%).
(ii) 10 + 1 Pass. (will get 1 mark).
(iii) 10 + 2 Pass. (will get 1 mark).
(iv) Graduation/ Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University. (will get 3 marks).
(v) Experience as Anganwadi Workers or Anganwadi Helper. (will get 1 mark for each year with a maximum of 3 marks only).
(vi) Any women who is destitute, divorced, deserted, widow. (will get 2 marks).
• For Anganwadi Helper:
(i) Primary (5th) Pass. (will get 10 marks).
(ii) Primary (6th) Pass. (will get 1 mark).
(iii) Primary (7th) Pass. (will get 1 mark).
(iv) Middle (8th) Pass. (will get 1 mark).
(v) Experience as AWW, AWH. (will get 1 mark for each year with maximum 3 marks only.
(vi) Any women who is destitute, divorced, deserted, widow. (will get 2 marks).
Age Limit:
Age Limit for candidates is 18 years to 44 years.
Pay Scale/ Honorarium:
• For Anganwadi Worker:
Honorarium for the candidate is Rs. 3,000/- Per Month from Govt. of India’s grant and Rs. 1,600/- out of State Budget.
• For Anganwadi Helper:
Honorarium for the candidate is Rs. 1,500/- Per Month from Govt. of India’s grant and Rs. 800/- out of State Budget.
How to Apply
• The interested local candidates may apply for the above said posts with complete Bio – data along with residence proof and copies of documents to the Programme Officer, ICDS Cell, Town Hall Extension Building, IIIrd Floor, Sector 17, Chandigarh on or before 15 January 2014.
• The preference will be given to local candidates only who resides near the Anganwadi Centres.
• No separate interview will be held for these posts. The selection of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers will be made on the basis of Qualifying Marks. The Qualifying Marks for preparing the Merit List is allotted out of total 20 marks for Anganwadi Workers and out of total 18 marks for Anganwadi Helpers.

Selection Procedure
