Union Bank of India is a well known public sector bank in india with its head office in Mumbai. Starting in November 1919, UBI has now a vast network of over 2500 Branches across nation and a large workforce of over 29000 employees.
Union Bank of India is currently looking to appoint on 598 Specialist Officers (SO) posts from those that have qualified IBPS Common Specialist Officers Exam conducted in Mar 2012.

Tentative date of written test (Not for Scale - I) - Oct 07, 2012
Age and qualification are measured as on Dec 1, 2011

Eligibility Criteria

• For higher Scales (II and above), The selection will be through Written Test/Psychometric Test and Interview. Candidates are advised to look into the notification for more details on eligibility and other details about these higher scales vacancies.
• For Scale - I vacancies, Only those Candidates Qualified in IBPS Specialist Officers CWE Mar 2012 may apply.
• JMG Scale - I (Age Limit - 21 - 35 Years as on Dec 1, 2011). Educational an other qualifications are same as those stipulated in the Specialist officers CWE notification. You may see the CWE notification fo reference.
• Candidates are advised to refer to notification for more details as there are separate qualification requirements for different posts in same scale.
• Computer training certificate (Of Min 60 Hours duration) is required (Not if studied Computer as a subject at the Degree Level).
• No Min TWS marks are mentioned so all CWE qualified candidates are eligible to apply.
  

Selection Procedure

• As stated, a written test may be conducted for higher scale officers, but for Scale -I , Union Bank of India will Conduct GD/Psychometric Tests and Interview shortlisted candidates depending on vacancies and Final Selection will be made on the basis of overall performance (IBPS SO CWE and GD/Interview).
• GD and Interview each carry 50 marks and Min qualifying marks in it are 50% for General and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories. 
• Finally selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years and will execute a Service Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of 3 years worth Rs.250000.

Application Procedure

• The fee for application is Rs. 100 for Gen/OBC and Rs.20 for Others.
• Payment to be made in cash at any Union Bank of India branch by Payment Challan (Will be available from July 17).
• Like other banks, you have Apply online with all details filled up properly. Keep payment challan safe for use during GD/Interview (if called for) and two application form prints.
